The DX-300 Diver Magnetometer has been designed to utilise the same housing as the familiar AQUAPULSE (AQ1B) range of metal detectors. The system comprises a robust DX-300 electronic module together with an RX200 (80cm (32″) length) detection probe, a slim Bonephone (or optionally Underwater Headphones) and a universal mains charger. Connections are made to the control unit with the same robust underwater Ikelite connectors as the AQ1B range.
The RX200 probe features dual high-sensitivity Fluxgate magnetic sensors spaced 600mm apart, housed in robust GRP with a pre-conditioning combiner circuit. It connects to the control unit via a 2m polyurethane cable and Ikelite connector. Four selectable sensitivity modes allow for progressive de-sensitisation during target investigation. Audio output can be silent or low-frequency, with pitch changes indicating metallic presence. The proportional audio response aids in pinpointing and tracking objects, and can also suggest object orientation.
The mains charger, Bonephone, and Headphones are identical to those used with the AQ1B family, allowing crossover use for existing AQ1B owners. An internal NiMH battery provides a minimum of 12 hours operation and can be recharged at any time without memory effect issues.
USES
- PIPE & CABLE TRACKER
The DX-300 Diver Magnetometer can be used to locate and follow ferrous subsea pipes down to burial depths of several meters. Ideal for locating and mapping pipes and armoured cables buried in sediment. Burial depths of between 1 metre and 7 metre dependent on the diameter of the pipe or cable.
- UXO DETECTOR
The DX-300 Diver Magnetometer has been successfully used on numerous contracts to locate unexploded ordinance. Unlimited applications in all types of underwater investigation for the presence of ordnance, weapons etc.
- SALVAGE & ARCHAEOLOGY
The DX-300 Diver Magnetometer is an invaluable tool to locate all buried ferrous material down to burial depths of several metres. A useful tool for the successful recovery of lost items either in low visibility or were lost in soft sediment. Ideal tool to complement surface operated searches. Ideal tool for the location of buried ferrous wreck material. Unlimited applications in all types of archaeological wreck investigation, ideal diver operated tool to locate items buried deep in sediment. Allows accurate mapping of all buried ferrous material prior to seabed disturbance. Can also detect the presence of some forms of ballast material which in many cases gives a magnetic response.
- POLICE SEARCH TEAMS
Ideal for a range of applications including locating discarded weapons and homing in on targets in very low viz such as submerged vehicles. The DX300 will pinpoint a vehicle in 10 metres depth from the surface prior to diving to confirm.
Longer cable lengths up to 100m are available for surface use, including towed, drop-down, or drift operations.
