Custom 2 Diver 3.5 Tonne Commercial Diving Support Van

The iSubC 2 Diver 3.5 Tonne Commercial Diving Support Van is a compact, road-mobile diving system designed to support two-diver commercial diving operations.

Built within a 3.5 tonne van platform, the system combines a dedicated dive supervisor control area with a separate diver preparation and gas storage compartment. The dual-compartment layout provides a practical separation between dive control operations and wet equipment, helping to maintain an organised, comfortable and professional working environment.

Each vehicle can be configured around the customer’s operational requirements, preferred equipment and working practices. The internal layout, gas storage capacity, communications equipment, video system, electrical installation and external connection points can all be adapted during the design stage.

Dual-Compartment Van Layout

The vehicle is divided into two dedicated operational compartments:

  1. Dive supervisor and control compartment
  2. Diver preparation, gas storage and equipment compartment

This arrangement allows the dive supervisor to operate from a clean, controlled environment while the divers access their equipment, umbilicals and gas storage from a separate working area.

Compartment 1: Dive Supervisor and Control Area

The front operational compartment provides a dedicated dive supervisor workstation with an integrated desk, electrical services and dive monitoring equipment.

The compartment is designed to provide the supervisor with clear access to the dive control panel, diver video displays, communications equipment and electrical connections.

Supervisor Workstation

The standard workstation includes:

  • Integrated dive supervisor desk
  • Two diver video display monitors
  • One accessory monitor
  • Facility for connecting an additional external monitor
  • Two desk-mounted HDMI connection points
  • Four 230 V electrical sockets with USB charging ports
  • Dedicated electrical supply cupboard
  • Consumer unit
  • Victron inverter
  • Diesel-powered compartment heater

The diesel heater provides additional comfort for the dive supervisor during operations in cold or exposed working conditions.

HSE Two-Diver HP/LP Gas Control Panel

The supervisor compartment is fitted with a wall-mounted HSE-style two-diver HP/LP gas control panel.

The panel is installed within a durable stainless steel frame and provides controlled breathing gas distribution to both divers.

External JIC gas connections are positioned through the bottom of the panel installation, providing a clean and practical connection arrangement for the vehicle’s internal gas system.

The panel installation can be configured to suit the customer’s specific operational requirements, including preferred communications, depth monitoring and gas supply arrangements.

Compartment 2: Diver and Equipment Area

The rear compartment provides a dedicated working area for diver preparation, umbilical management and breathing gas storage.

It is supplied fully plumbed and configured to allow the vehicle to be prepared for diving operations with minimal setup time.

Gas Storage System

The compartment is fitted with lightweight carbon composite breathing gas storage cylinders.

Carbon composite cylinders provide a significant weight reduction compared with conventional steel cylinders, helping the complete vehicle remain within the operational limits of the selected 3.5 tonne chassis.

The gas storage system is connected directly to the HP/LP dive control panel and external compressor supply ports.

Cylinder quantity, capacity and pressure rating can be selected according to the required operating duration, diving depth and vehicle payload limitations.

Diver Equipment Storage

The diver compartment includes:

  • Umbilical storage hooks
  • Diver umbilical connection points
  • HP and LP gas pipework
  • Gas storage cylinder restraints
  • Equipment storage areas
  • Internal lighting
  • Practical access for diver preparation and equipment handling

The vehicle is supplied fully plumbed and ready for connection to the selected diver umbilicals, helmets, masks and communications equipment.

External Vehicle Connections

External connection points provide fast access to electrical power and breathing gas supplies without requiring equipment to be routed through the vehicle doors.

Standard external connections include:

  • 240 V 16 A electrical input connection
  • 240 V 13 A electrical output connection
  • HP breathing gas supply connection for Gas storage cylinder refill
  • LP breathing gas supply connections for Gas storage cylinder refill

The HP and LP supply ports allow compressors or external gas supplies to be connected quickly to the vehicle system. This enables the onboard storage cylinders to be refilled without dismantling internal pipework or removing the cylinders from the vehicle.

External Lighting and Site Safety

The vehicle is fitted with 360-degree external working lights to improve visibility around the diving system during low-light, night-time or poor-weather operations.

A roof-mounted warning light bar is also installed to improve vehicle visibility and help identify the diving control location on busy or restricted work sites.

The external lighting arrangement can be adapted to suit highway, civil engineering, harbour, inland waterway or marine operational requirements.

CCTV and Recording System

Externally mounted CCTV cameras provide surveillance around the vehicle and the immediate diving work area.

Camera footage is recorded using an internally mounted digital video recorder, providing an additional record of site activity and vehicle security.

The external CCTV system can assist with:

  • Monitoring the operational area
  • Improving supervisor awareness
  • Recording diving support activities
  • Site security
  • Reviewing incidents or operational events
  • Monitoring vehicle access

The number and position of external cameras can be selected during the vehicle design stage.

Designed for Two-Diver Commercial Diving Operations

The 2 Diver 3.5 Tonne Diving Support Van is suitable for a wide range of commercial diving and underwater maintenance work, including:

  • Inland and civil engineering diving
  • Harbour and marina operations
  • Reservoir and water utility work
  • Bridge and structural inspections
  • Underwater inspection and maintenance
  • Construction diving
  • Emergency response
  • Remote or mobile diving operations

Its compact vehicle footprint allows the system to access locations where larger containerised dive control systems may be impractical.
